EXAMINATION RESULTS

Advanced level:

The A level and results in 2007 showed that the high standards of previous years are being maintained. All but one student in both subjects entered for examinations at the end of year 13 achieved grades E or above.

The AS and A2 level statistics are shown in the table below.

NOTES:

GCSE:

The recent trend for excellent results at GCSE continued in 2007 with excellent higher grade pass rates (grade C or higher) in all three subjects. In year 10, 83% of the students entered for the exam achieved a higher grade pass which represents 58% of the whole year group. In year 11, over 50% of the students achieved a second higher grade GCSE in either geography or history (having already achieved a higher grade in Humanities in 2006). Overall, an amazing 75% of the year group achieved at least one higher grade GCSE within the Humanities subjects.

PLEASE NOTE: totals & percentages are given for the whole year group for Humanities in year 10 but for the entry for the subjects in year 11.Results for GCSE Humanities in year 11 mostly consist of students who were not entered for the examination in their previous year.

Key Stage 3:

The results at Key Stage 3 are based on teacher assessments of the National Curriculum level reached by all students at the end of the year 9 in each of the humanities subjects. There are no formal or external tests or SATs.

In the Humanities faculty subjects , our teacher assessments are based on the performance of each student in a range of assessment tasks and the annual school exams or tests held during the key stage.
